A versatile, fearless and astute all-rounder, Washington Sundar is a utility player that every captain craves. He can\n bowl in the Powerplay, middle and slog overs. He is adaptable, can bat anywhere in the batting order, and is one of\n the safest fielders.
A talented youngster, Washington made steady progress through the junior ranks. As a 16-year-\n old, he impressed in the 2016 U-19 World Cup with his tight spells, which included a fighting\n spell of 9-1-18-0 in the final against the West Indies, which India eventually lost. It didn't take\n him long to make his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the same year. And a year later, he\n made his India debut in the Mohali ODI against Sri Lanka in December 2017. A few days later,\n he made his T20I debut against the same opposition in Mumbai and impressed with 4-0-22-1 in\n India's win. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder made an impact on his Test debut with nerves of steel\n as he scored crucial 62 and 22 coming in at No. 7 and picking up four wickets in India's famous\n win at The Gabba in Brisbane.
A tall, lanky off-spinner, Washington is an astute reader of the game who believes in meticulous\n planning and preparation. He bowls tight lines and lengths and has the ability to extract extra\n bounce because of his height. He can outfox the batters with his clever variations.
