BCCI Centre of Excellence Receives IGBC Gold Rating Award for Green New Buildings

The BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) has earned the prestigious IGBC Gold Rating in the Green New Buildings category, recognising its commitment to sustainable and future-ready infrastructure. The award was conferred at the IGBC event held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, on 27th November 2025.

The COE was evaluated across seven key environmental categories, including Sustainable Architecture & Design, Site Selection & Planning, Water Conservation, Energy Efficiency, Building Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Development. The BCCI COE demonstrated excellence in sustainable design, resource efficiency, and occupant well-being across these parameters.

As part of its sustainability-driven approach, the COE integrates several green building features, including an on-site solar photovoltaic installation of 80 kWp that meets over 6% of its annual energy demand. A comprehensive rainwater harvesting system capable of collecting up to 3,031 cu.m/day supports efficient water management, supplemented by high-efficiency plumbing fixtures that help achieve a 25% reduction in potable water use. The campus also treats 100% of its wastewater through an on-site 40 KLD STP, with treated water reused to meet more than 95% of non-potable needs. Further, the HVAC system operates on R410A refrigerant, ensuring an ozone-friendly and environmentally responsible cooling solution.

The Board extends its gratitude to the Indian Green Building Council for this honour and reaffirms its commitment to advancing sustainable practices in Indian cricket infrastructu
