In a rain-curtailed encounter, India Under 19 posted 115 runs on the board, without losing a wicket, in 23 overs. While Yashasvi Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 57 off 77 balls, Divyaansh Saxena scored 52 not out from 62 balls after New Zealand Under 19 elected to bowl.
The revised target for New Zealand Under 19 was 192 runs and they made a brisk start in the chase, racing past fifty in the five overs, with Rhys Mariu leading the charge. Ravi Bishnoi then gave India Under 19 their first breakthrough as he dismissed Ollie White in the sixth over.
Fergus Lellman and Mariu then added 30 runs together before Atharva Ankolekar removed the two in the space of 16 runs to derail the New Zealand Under 19 chase.
While the left-arm spinner added one more wicket to his tally, Bishnoi scalped three wickets in the 18th over before India Under 19 bowled out New Zealand Under 19 for 147 to register their third win in as many matches to top the Group A.
India Under 19 will square off against Australia Under 19 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
